We tear off the roof all the way down to the decking. Most companies leave the old felt. We do this to inspect the decking and make sure everything is in good condition. We also want to check the joints to make sure they're nailed down flush with the rafters.

We put on synthetic felt and ice & water shield together.

We apply the shingles.

We make sure the ventilation is properly set up.

Last step is applying the ridge cap.
